Are there additional fees if I place an international call to a cell phone or some other mobile device?

Yes. Calls to international cellular phones or special services may be charged at a higher rate. Please check our rates page for further details.

Why is it more expensive to call to an International cell phone?

Because you are paying for the time on the cell phone. Outside of North America, in the rest of the word it is normal for the person who is calling a cellular phone to pay for the airtime. The person who has the cell phone does not have to pay to receive inbound calls.

How do I know if the International number I am dialing is a cell phone?

A good idea is to ask the owner of the telephone number directly. But when you do not have a way to find out the information, please call customer service, and we will verify the number for you and also give you the rate corresponding to this number.

What are special services?

In North America the special services are numbers similar to 1-900 numbers. They are typically used for things like contest lines, voting lines, astrology services, erotica lines, etc.

Overseas, special service are used by associations, institutions or public companies. The institutions use these special numbers when they can not directly bill the person who received the call. For example, hospitals, Universities, rooming houses, student residents, oil rigs, etc. The special services are also used as a financing method to pay for interactive voice systems giving information by selecting options. Some examples of this are: banks, travel agencies and Airlines.

These numbers are usually charged at a higher rate.

How will I be billed for 10-10-230 calls?
